UAV-technology is an emerging and challenging technology addressing numerous application fields. One special application is the use of UAVs or drones for characterisation of electromagnetic fields propagated by the many and various types of outdoor antenna installations.

UAV-based antenna near-field measurements are considered as the future quantum leap in outdoor antenna measurements and as the major technology driver in this domain.

HERCULES-ONE UAV equipped with a Dual-Polarised S-Band Near-Field Probe Array during Near-Field Measurements of a 15m Satellite Ground Station Antenna located at the German Space Operation Center (GSOC) in Weilheim / Bavaria.

HERCULES-ONE UAV equipped with a Dual-Polarised L-Band Near-Field Probe and a High-Precision GNSS 6D-RTK Metrology System. Non-Rotating and Free-Space Rotor Centers allow Integration and Wiring of Active GNSS Antennas directly in the Center of the Rotor Heads above Rotor Blades.

HERCULES-ONE UAV equipped with a Folded Dipole Antenna for Signal-In-Space Characterisation of Aeronautical NAVAID Systems at Airports at 110 MHz.

Since the foundation of Aeroxess in 2011 the development of UAVs dedicated to characterisation of propagating electromagnetic fields is a major focus of the company's R&D activities.

As a result the HERCULES-ONE platform arose comprising all essential features enabling high-end and large-scale probing of electro-magnetic fields .
